Charlotte Martensson earned her B.A. from Florida State University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, one of Europe’s oldest veterinary schools.
A practicing veterinary surgeon, she joined Charlatan to report on animal health, emerging disease, and the changing economics of veterinary medicine. Her recent essay, “The Vet Is In,” examines how the H5N1 outbreak is exposing vulnerabilities in an increasingly consolidated veterinary industry.
